We are pleased to announce that our Head of Wills and Probate Department, Samantha Downs, has passed the Solicitors for the Elderly Older Client Care in Practice Award.

Solicitors for the Elderly is an independent, national organisation of lawyers who specialise in advice for older and vulnerable people and their families and carers. As part of being a member, Samantha agrees to follow the Code of Conduct of Solicitors for the elderly.

The Older Client Care in Practice Award tested Samantha on her client care skills. We are delighted to say that Samantha passed with 90% and is now a Full Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly. Prior to passing this Award, Samantha had previously completed written essays testing her legal knowledge which she also passed.

Samantha said “I’m very proud to have passed the Older Client Care in Practice Award and be a part of Solicitors for the Elderly. Our expertise in legal knowledge is a given. However, our Client Care skills are just as important as our legal knowledge, especially where we are dealing with older and/or vulnerable clients who find instructing solicitors a scary proposition. Hopefully, prospective clients will see from my being a Full Accredited Member that my Client Care skills will be just as important as my legal knowledge and feel comfortable in contacting me to help them.”
